This is a car museum dedicated to microcars.
The museum re-opens 23/3/2018. In season, open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Bank Holidays 10:00 – 17:00.
Microcars, or bubblecars, were an economical alternative to full size cars, these small, fuel efficient vehicles were powered by engines of less than 700cc in size. Microcars – the tiny, efficient vehicles powered by an engine of less than 700cc in size – were extremely popular during the 1950s and 60s.
The museum has over 50 microcars on display, many in thought provoking dioramas. Examples of Bond, Isetta, Reliant, Frisky and Bamby and others.
It was the lack of a museum devoted to microcars that led Mike and Paula Cooper to set up their own museum.
The museum has a row of period shops for visitors to explore, 1950s memorabilia, a gift shop and a café. There are camping and rally facilities go to the website for more details and to make contact.
